The difference is what happens after pickup. We sort donatable items from items that can't be donated, drop the good stuff at the charity, and the rest goes to a licensed transfer station. If your stuff is still useful, someone else can use it — we just make the routing happen for you.

When items are donated, you can request a donation receipt directly from the charity — that's the paperwork for your tax records. The Junk Lord delivers the items; we're not tax advisors and can't determine, guarantee, or value a deduction. What qualifies, how it's valued, and what makes it onto your return is between you, the charity, and IRS rules. If a receipt matters to you, tell us when we book the job so we can flag it during sort and route the drop-off accordingly.
