Terms of Service

The fine print, in plain English.

Last updated: May 26, 2026.

These terms apply when you use the The Junk Lordwebsite or hire us for junk removal, cleanouts, demolition, or related services. By using the site or booking a job with us, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site or book the service.

If anything here is unclear, call us at (717) 654-6138 before booking and we’ll walk you through it.

Who we are

The Junk Lord is a locally owned junk removal, cleanout, and light-demolition business operating out of York, PA, serving York County and surrounding Pennsylvania communities.

Quotes and pricing

Prices listed on the site, given over the phone, or sent in a written estimate are good-faith estimates based on what you describe. Final price is set on-site once we’ve seen the actual items, access, and conditions. If the on-site price will be higher than the estimate, we’ll tell you the new number before we start loading or cutting. You can always say no at that point.

Pricing factors include volume, weight, access (stairs, narrow alleys, distance from truck), disposal fees for specialty items, and any cutting or disassembly required.

What we won't haul

For the safety of our crew and to comply with disposal rules, we will not haul:

  • Hazardous chemicals, paints, solvents, or pesticides (we can sometimes advise on disposal options)
  • Asbestos, lead paint debris, or other regulated materials
  • Medical or biohazardous waste
  • Ammunition, explosives, or pressurized tanks
  • Live animals or animal carcasses (other than normal pet incidentals)
  • Items leaking fuel or oil

If we arrive and find any of the above in a load we were hired to haul, we’ll separate it out and either advise on disposal or, in some cases, decline the portion of the job involving those items.

Scheduling, cancellations, and access

We do our best to hit the window we quote. Weather, equipment breakdowns, and earlier jobs running long can occasionally push us. If we’re running late, we’ll text or call.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, call as early as you can — same-day cancellations after we’ve dispatched a truck may incur a trip charge.

You’re responsible for making sure we can safely access the property and the items. If there’s no parking, the gate is locked, or the dog isn’t put away, we may need to reschedule.

Demolition jobs

For shed, deck, hot tub, and similar light-demolition work, you represent that you own the structure or have the property owner’s authorization to have it removed. You’re responsible for confirming any HOA approvals, permits, or utility disconnects required for the job before we arrive. If you’re not sure whether a permit is needed, we’ll tell you what we’ve seen in similar jobs, but the final call is yours.

Payment

Payment is due upon completion of the job. We accept cash, check, and major credit/debit cards. For larger commercial jobs we may invoice net-15 by prior arrangement.

Liability

We carry general liability insurance and work carefully, but moving furniture, appliances, and demolition debris can occasionally cause incidental scuffs to walls, floors, doorways, and landscaping. We’ll do our best to avoid this and to make reasonable repairs if something obvious happens during the job. Notify us before we leave the site so we can address it on the spot.

We’re not responsible for pre-existing damage, for items left behind that you wanted hauled (if not pointed out before we left), or for items mistakenly identified as junk that you’d intended to keep. Walk the site with us before we leave.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our liability for any claim related to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

Photos and content

We may take photos of jobs we complete — before, during, and after — and use them on our website, social media, and advertising. We won’t include identifying information (house numbers, faces, license plates) without permission. If you don’t want photos of your job used publicly, just tell us before the job starts.

All content on this website — text, photos, logos — is owned by The Junk Lordor used with permission. You’re welcome to link to the site; please don’t copy substantial portions of the content without asking.

Website use

The site is provided “as is.” We try to keep it accurate and available but don’t guarantee uninterrupted service or that every detail (pricing examples, service-area boundaries, etc.) is current at every moment. The most accurate and current price is the one we give you over the phone or on site.

Disclaimer of warranties

Other than the basic commitment to do the job we agreed to with reasonable care, we make no warranties, express or implied, about our services or this website. Anything not explicitly promised in writing is disclaimed to the extent allowed by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of these terms or our services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in York County, Pennsylvania.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version, and its “Last updated” date, will always be on this page.
